Josep Maria Sert

Enterrament de Crist (Burial of Christ)Oil on canvas glued to wood panel 120x70 cm

His most important work was the decoration of the Cathedral of Vic, on which he worked from 1906 to 1929. On the 21st of July 1936 the cathedral was burnt and, at the end of the Spanish the Civil War, Sert worked on the new decorations until his death in November 1945.

This work is a draft of a part of the triptych of the Passion and represents, with a personal iconography, the burial of Christ.
